Island Dream Villa

Island Dream Villa is a 460.88 sqm private villa in Batu Mejan, Bali, designed as a tropical retreat where contemporary living meets Balinese character. Working within a 302 sqm site, the design responds to the client’s desire for a complete holiday experience while maintaining a strong connection to Bali’s tropical landscape.

At the heart of the villa is a central courtyard that becomes the main spatial anchor. On the ground floor, the garden courtyard sits alongside a fish pond and a traditional Balinese angkul-angkul, surrounded by the main living spaces and bedrooms. Above, the courtyard transforms into a void, bringing natural light and air deeper into the residence. A sunken pool connects to the courtyard and creates a continuous relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The facade combines limestone, black stone, wood, and layered planters with patterned secondary screens. Dark, earthy, and natural tones create a contemporary tropical expression with Balinese warmth.

Stepping stones across the water feature complete the journey, turning circulation into an immersive experience of water, garden, and architecture.
